EXPLORATORY MAJORS

Exploratory is the major designation for students who have not yet chosen a field of study. Some exploratory students have specific interests in mind while others are completely undecided about a major.

Some exploratory students in ACES plan to pursue admission to one of UConn's 4-year schools or colleges (Agriculture & Natural Resources, Business, Engineering, Fine Arts, or Nursing). These students are designated as exploratory majors until they are admitted to their chosen academic program. For example, students who plan to apply to the School of Business or the School of Engineering are referred to as "exploring business" or "exploring engineering" students.
