Major Choices,

Major
Choices, Career Decisions:
Two
topics that are important to every college
student
Some students enter college with their majors already declared. They
might even have some ideas about what career(s) they would
like to pursue upon graduation. Many other students,
however, begin their college careers without a chosen major. These
students use their experiences at the college level to help
in the decision-making process. Whether you have declared
your major or not, this course module will help you to be
sure that your major choices and career decisions are the
right ones for you!
If you already have specific plans
for a major , use this
course module to examine how and why you have made your major
decision. Learn about opportunities to gain valuable
experience related to your major and career goals.
If you have not yet decided on a major , use this course
module to begin thinking about your options and the steps
you can take to begin making decisions about your future.
Some students feel overwhelmed by t he importance of making
decisions about majors and careers. To begin and accomplish
this important task, start the process of gathering information
about yourself and the opportunities in the world around
you. As you gain information and experience, the process
of making a decision will become easier.
The Major/Career equation is a great tool
that you can use to help solve the puzzle of your major/career
decisions. The
equation illustrates the components that you will need to
consider to be satisfied with your career decision. You
can examine any factor in the equation, including the result,
with the information and activities in this course module. |
