Important Resources
Choosing a major is an important decision and an important
aspect of your education. There are many resources
that you may utilize as you make your major decision. Talk
with an ACES
Advisor and/or and Career
Services Consultant. Seek input from family, friends,
faculty, and people you know who are in majors or careers
that you find interesting.
A great place to start researching majors at UConn is on
the web . Every major offered at UConn is described
in detail. Click

The Annual Major Fair is offered each fall and it provides
you with an opportunity to talk with faculty and student
representatives from virtually every major offered at the
University. Look for announcements about the Annual
Major Fair, as well as other fairs and programs related to
major options throughout the year. In addition, Career
Services offers workshops throughout the year to address
topics related to major choices and opportunities for learning
outside the classroom.
You may also register for an INTD 182 course. INTD
182 classes are faculty student seminars offered through
the First Year Experience program. FYE classes are
open to all first and second year students. Several
sections of INTD 182 are offered each semester. Take
a class that will allow you to explore your interests. In
the spring, there are several sections of INTD 182 called "Searching
for a Major?" Click on the link for a listing
of the INTD
182 classes.
Remember, choosing a major is an opportunity to study an
area of interest to YOU . Students who choose majors
that they find interesting and enjoyable are more likely
to do well in their classes and be successful students. |
