Education
Education includes not only
the things that you learn in the classroom but also those
lessons that you learn from all of your experiences and relationships. A
critical component of your education is your choice of
a major, but remember that your major is just one element
of your educational journey.
Often when students think about choosing a major they are
fearful that the decision will dictate or limit which careers
will be available to them upon graduation. However, more
and more students are realizing that a specific major does
not always lead to a specific career. In fact, skills
for communication, critical thinking, taking initiative,
interacting effectively with others and processing new information
are often far more important to employers than is a student's
major. Take the quiz below to learn more about majors
at UConn and the career opportunities that are associated
with them.
