Learning the basics about different occupations is a really
important step in the career decision-making process. In
addition to learning about and understanding yourself, it
is very important to gather information about different careers
and what they entail. Here are just some of the ways
to educate yourself about various career opportunities.

Use Career Services' Career Resource Library (CRL).
This library houses over 700 resources for use in exploring
majors and careers. The CRL is open weekdays from
8AM to 5PM.

Talk to people about their jobs . Got an aunt whose
job sounds exciting? Ask her about it!

Participate in Job Shadowing . This is an opportunity
for you to go out into the workplace to spend the day
with an individual who works in an occupation of interest
to you. Meet with a Career Consultant (call 486-3013
to set up an appointment) for more information.
